Dreaming on a Rainy Day
Fall is here and Winter is just around the corner...and I am so ready to decorate for the holidays.
I know I may be rushing things a little, but I look forward to this time of the year.
I also came across this~
I do not know whose kitchen this is...but let me come to visit and cook you up a home cooked meal! I can picture myself here..maybe without the pillows (my kids would just throw them on the floor!)
Ahhhh internet dreaming...free and such a restful way to spend a day...especially one like this...stormy and chilly!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit~

Where I Left Off
When I left you, we had just finished building this~
It was originally going to be a craft studio for me. Well, I just couldn't be so selfish. So I decided to share it with my family and we made it into a movie house. It is located by the pool...so we usually call it a "pool house". Here is what Joe built to cover the windows~
When opened they look like board and batten windows shutters...I forgot to take a picture. If I remember I will post it next time. We left the ceiling as cathedral ceilings. We used bead board paneling on the ceiling as well as the walls. On the back wall Joe put up the awesome shelf~
We spend quite a bit of time in here...especially in the fall and winter. We have installed a large LED 3D tv...not cable, just movies.
When daughter #2 came home from college for the summer, she slept out there. Since she was working 3rd shift, it was extremely quiet for her to sleep during the day. On the weekends we let the little ones have a "camp out" in the pool house...it is such a treat for them!
So you see, it has really come in handy...it is so cozy in there...I could LIVE in there full time!
This is a cabinet that I picked up at a tag sale for $40. We use this to store theater boxes of candy and microwave popcorn....Prim and functional!
I stopped at GW today and couldn't find ANYTHING to redo. Are people finally onto me? Do they snatch up the good wood items before I can get to them? I will just have to look in the next town over...maybe they haven't caught on yet :o)Tomorrow I will be going to an apple farm with daughter #6. What a great way to celebrate Autumn!!
Wishing Y'all a wonderful Fall day!

I Am Back....
Hello Friends~
I am back to blogging!
It has been almost a year...and I sure have missed all of you :o)
I do not have any photos to show you in this post. I just wanted to reintroduce myself and let everyone know what has been going on with me over the past year.
My name is Janene, I am a Diet Dr. Pepper loving, prim decorating, thrift store searching kind of gal.
I LOVE to find items at local thrift stores and GoodWill stores and give them new life to fit into my primitive home.
In the past year, all 6 of my girls are out of the home in the mornings.
My oldest is living her life in Rochester, New York working retail.
My second oldest will be graduating from Ohio University in March of 2012. In April of 2012 she will be marrying her high school sweetheart (just like her momma :o)
My third oldest will be graduating from high school in 2012. She is currently working at McDonald's as a crew trainer.
My fourth oldest is a junior in high school. She is currently working at Kentucky Fried Chicken...and loving it!
My fifth daughter is a second grader. She is excited about receiving First Communion in May 2012.
And my baby is in kindergarten. She enjoys riding the bus and loves her school and friends.
And my husband is an Asst. Fire Chief...and in 2012 has the opportunity to become Fire Chief!
And as for me, I am a Stay At Home Mom. Last year I taught preschool. I loved that job...but the child count is way down and they couldn't use me this year. :o(
This has left me with much time on my hands during the morning and early afternoons.
I had a garage sale this past summer selling a load of my primitive items...I just didn't have the room for all of it.
It was so hard to see it all go...but I had to be realistic and just let go!
This blog has the same name as before...but I would like to make it into a selling/swapping blog as well. I love the thrill of the hunt and the finishing of found items. I would like to share this with others.
I do not like to spend more than $5 on an item...I would like to refinish found item and sell for a $5 profit. So the majority of my items will not cost more than $10 plus shipping.
We will see how this goes!
Some of my old followers called me the Thrift Store Queen...I Love that title :o)
If you are looking for a particular item, and unable to find it where you are located, email me and I will put it on my shopping list...maybe I can help!
Thank you for visiting me.
