Candy that wil NOT rot your teeth!

Eye Candy that is!
As promised...for my last blog post of the year, I am going out with a BANG!
Sit back and enjoy a beverage of your choice, because this may take a while!

I purchased this little guy from someone on EBay.
I was planning on using him for a display, but he was a lot smaller than I imagined. I have been involved in a couple swaps recently.
My first one was with Kath at The Olde Weeping Cedar. I was on the hunt for pewter pieces for her, and this is what she made me...
It is awesome beyond words! Thank you so much Kath...I love it!!!!
My next swap was with Pam from Basketsnprims.
She asked me to be on the look out for some bowls that I could prim up for her. I delivered, and so did she!!
She weaved this key basket for me....

Pam's work is fantabulous!! I haven't found the perfect thing to display in it yet. I am thinking some nice red berries during the holiday season. Thank you so much Pam...I get a lot on compliments on it!
I have also been lucky enough to win 2 giveaways! I know!!! Two!!!! I was so so excited!
The first one was from Amy from http://www. irishcorkiesprimitives.blogspot.com

They are so great! Christmas is my favorite time of the year, and I am always in need of new decorations.
Thank you Amy for this great giveaway....I love it all!
Then I won another giveaway from Teresa from http://willowbendprims.blogspot.com/
The smells coming from the box were so wonderful!
I can still smell them lingering in my home as I am typing this.
Just look at all she packed in the box...

Thank you Teresa! You went above and beyond on this giveaway!
This was actually the "Grand Prize" box...she even drew two more names (and mine was the second name too! But, to be fair, she choose another one!)
Most of these boxes came in while I was out shopping at Kohl's...taking advantage of my extra 30% off coupon!
My daughter, Megan, called me on my cell phone while I was standing in line at the checkout, to tell me that I received a lot of packages in the mail. She wanted to know if she could open them! I said "Heck No!" That is like letting someone open your Christmas presents on Christmas morning....unheard of!
This is what I was purchasing at Kohl's... I actually bought 3 of them! With my 30% off and a $10 rebate...they came out to $22 a piece.
I may save them, or give them as gifts!
Now onto my finds.
I will just let you scroll through these...

An already prim quilt rack...$3.99

Future redo~
It is so heavy...and only $19.99 (I know, more than what I usually spend)

An old sled...$10
Won't this look awesome decorated for Christmas?

I finally put up my cupboard at the bottom of the steps...
Remember this Craigslist purchase?

Well, Joe and I are in the process of finishing up the surround with brick veneer...

Hopefully I can get it done while I am on Blogcation!
Do you recall this garage sale find for $3...

I finally repainted it. And I need to find some socket covers and get some silicone bulbs.
Hopefully I can get Joe to hang it up for me this coming weekend.

It reminds me of some of the ones I have seen in Irvin's. But a lot less costly!!

I found this sleigh after I ordered the reindeer...but before it arrived.
It was just the piece I needed to redo.
Now it looks like this...
What do you think...without the top...
Or with the top piece...

I thought I could load it with some prim packages!
What a nice centerpiece it should make!

Here are some more goodies from GW...Someone must have been getting out of their prim phase, because there has been a lot there lately!

Wouldn't this make a great spice cabinet?

This will give me something to do over the winter!

I found two of these fall place mats...brand new from Target...but mine were from GW!
I thought that I could coffee dye them and use them as a table mat.

Vintage Pyrex...I love these things!

A pair of sage and tan valences...
Plate/Bowl rack...

Nice peg rack...

Here is my SCORE of the week!!
Look at the wear on this....perfection!

This was in between the Kohl's shopping trip. I stopped at the Habitat for Humanity Resale store. And I spotted it on the shelf....peed my pants...regained my composure, and tried to restore my dignity....then I grabbed it off the shelf, turned it over...and repeated the above scenario.
All because the price was $1.50...Yeah...you read that right...One dollar and fifty cents!
YAHOO!

Recall these Tuscan beauties?

A little black spray paint...and voila!
Grubby candle to slip in somewhere...

Some of you on my facebook recall me talking about cooking my goose. And I guess I did a post on blogspot too.
Here is what she looked like when I picked her up from GW....for only $1.80
While she was baking for hours...

I figured out why she was taking so long for her butt to dry out...she was weighted down with a sand bag!!!
And wet sand takes FOREVER to dry out!
Here she is with her bottom sewed up and in her rightful place!

When I found Chloe (that is what I named my goose!) I also picked up some Thanksgiving items....

I am now acquiring quite a few Fall items...what did I decorate with before? Who knows!
Well, this wraps up my posts for the year!
I will continue to read and comment on posts, when I can. I will also continue to thrift shop (I would DIE if that ever stopped! LOL)
Also, I will continue to be your "PERSONAL SHOPPER" if you need me.
Remember you can reach me at momoffive35@yahoo.com.
Have a great year friends!

This is a picture of what I am looking forward to.
Lots and lots of snow!!! Call me crazy...but I look forward to it every year! (Me and Jenn)

I know I promised you some pictures of my latest finds...and there are a lot of them...so I will post pictures on Monday.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Happy Hump Day Friends!
I found a great candle the other day that I have been burning... Now, usually I don't like to burn candles, because of the soot, but this one is so fragrant and I leave it on the stove, so hopefully the soot stays off the walls!

In between shopping at the TS and GW I have been baking and painting.
Right now in the oven I am cooking a goose...and let me tell you, the aroma is intoxicating!!
The smell of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla are wafting to my nose! Mmmmmm!
Here is a peek...

I have a tip...spray or dab your staining solution on the project...DO NOT immerse it in the water!!
I have been in and out of the oven for hours...its bottom is sopping wet!
I'm thinking he is looking a little too grungy!
I will have to see what I can do when he is finished drying.

I have been painting my little heart out.
Not on my prims...but on this...

Door jewelry finishes the project off perfectly!

We purchased the Larson screen door from Menard's. I love it!!! It has a screen-away, which means no removing the storm window to replace with a screen in the Spring!
And since I chose the Cranberry color, I had to paint my door.
I had Joe put up the $1.99 sign I found at GW.
What do y'all think?

Next on the redo list...painting the entire house!
But that will have to wait until Spring! Unless we keep getting these warm temps here in Ohio.
It is gorgeous out today!
I stopped at a thrift store last night, as I was waiting for Katie to finish swim practice. And I found some awesome goodies...unfortunately I forgot I had to get kids in the back seat, and I had to cram my awesome find in the trunk...UGH! I haven't checked to see if it survived the ride...I'm almost afraid to look!
Well, I am off to recycle my papers, that I left in the trunk last night too (that was part of the packing problem!).
Have a great day friends...and don't forget to thank all that serve out country!
They are brave men and women...our heroes!

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Can you believe we are into the second week of November already?
I can almost smell the Roasted Turkey, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and the Sweet Milk Dinner Rolls right now!
I wanted to thank each and every one of you who purchased items off my previous post.
I had 12 customers and only a handful of items left....I plan on taking those up to Goodwill tomorrow.
It was a lot of packaging and the postmaster thought I was selling on EBay...but it was so much fun!
I may have to do this again soon! Online Garage Sales are great...If you have items that are cluttering up your space, you might want to consider doing this on your blogs...it is free for you, and you might just get that extra $$$ for Christmas!
Remember...One Woman's clutter is another Woman's Treasure =)

I wanted to share with you a few things that I have been doing this past week.
I cut apart a pillow sham and coffee stained it. I then, mounted it in a frame. I believe that Mary from Gettysburg Homestead did this also.
The holes were actually caused by a mouse that decided to make a nest out of this in my shed/studio. I have since put De-Con in there and have no other problems.
But I thought it added some age to it...So thank you Mickey Mouse! Here is what I did with the stockings that Jenn made me and the small mittens I found at Goodwill...I also found the peg rack at Goodwill on a different trip.
I can't wait to bring this over to the house so that I can use this.
Thank you again Jenn!
Here are some items that I have picked up on my thrifting travels....

I love a good collection of "Chick Flicks"
I found this "as is"...
I love the red under the mustard....Prim Perfect!

This is what I am working on for "Whatcha' Working on Wednesday"

I went to Goodwill yesterday (I know...big surprise!)...and I hit the Prim mother-lode!
Someone must have decided that they did not want that decor anymore...so they unloaded it!
I peed my pants in the store...good thing I was wearing my Depends!!
I will share those items with you next week.
I hope all of you are having a great week...Thank you for taking the time to visit with me =)

Well blogging friends...I finally had a chance to go through my stash of Goodwill items, and pare down the items that I do not think that I will have a use for.

I will keep these posted for one week.
If you would be so kind to mention this sale on your blogs I would be greatly thankful!

These are the items that I have left! Thank all of you who have ordered!!!

Set of 4 vintage measuring cups...$4

The half cup has a small chip on the top...

Paper mache Easter box $2

Primitive saltbox wall plaque $3

Small wooden bread keep $4

Small peg shelf $3

Glass oil jug...great for holding dish washing liquid! $3

I wish I knew how to stage the pictures to make them look better...but I am a thrifty crafter, not a photographer! lol
If you have any questions please Email me at momoffive35@yahoo.com.
Shipping charges will be added to all items....Shipping shouldn't be too bad, except for the set of 3 Pyrex bowls (I will quote you a price before sending you a bill).
Hopefully I will have more success with this sale. With the other one I tried to hold, a lot of the sales didn't happen for one reason or another.
Have a wonderful week friends!

Life is Good at Goodwill

Yep, it is true!
While on my weekly shopping excursion, I came across some great finds.
This little guy was standing at the end of a clothes rack.
I couldn't resist...he needed some love, a button, and some arms...

I am searching my yard for fallen twigs to fix him up. And then he will just perfect!

I about peed my pants when I saw these next two items...they were only $1.99 each!

I like how skinny they are. They will fit nicely over a doorway!
Would you have picked this up for $1?

It reminds me of those candle paddles. This will definitely get a prim paint job and a grubbed candle. Then it will be prim perfection!
These tiny mittens were so adorable...
The sparkly snowman was not what I was looking for, but turned around they look great hanging on a peg rack. I will have to post a picture of them hanging with the ticking stockings that Jenn made for me. They look so well together.

This is a very deep wall pocket...

It looks like someone TRIED to distress it...but I will have to try something a little different.
I spotted this in the corner for only $2.40...

At first I thought it was a table, but then this happened...

I think that it is actually a piano bench! But not when I get finished with it! I like the idea of it being a side table to store napkins. I am thinking of just painting the legs and base. I am going to leave the top just the way it is. I like how worn it already looks!

This is not prim yet...
But I plan on removing the handle and the circular pieces that hold the handle. A little rustic paint, and it will be a great centerpiece to hold a candle.
I love snowmen...and couldn't pass up this little guy...

Be still my heart...is this a shaving mug?

Well, I believe it is!! Now I just need to find a shaving cream brush...and it will make a fantastic display for my bathroom!

I just thought these would be nice to hang on the side of a cabinet...

My favorite is the one with the rusty handle.
Why do people donate such AWESOME items?
I am not complaining...I actually love it! But don't you wonder some time?
I guess the old saying is true "One man's junk is a another man's (woman's) treasure"!
I hope all of you friends have a safe Halloween! I also believe that time change is this weekend...does that mean it gets darker earlier and it will also be darker when we wake up?
UGH!
I need more daylight to get more stuff done.
Have a great weekend friends!
Oh, before I forget, I am going to post some items up for sale on my side bar this weekend. I am not looking to make my mortgage payment off of these. Just the cost of the item, plus $2 and shipping fees . So don't plan on spending more than $5 per item plus shipping.
Need to unload some stuff...or off they go, back to GW!
Until next time~
